May I, through the letters column of your publication, make an appeal to all former students and staff of Victorial High School in Victorial, B.C.

In 1976, Victoria ‘High School, the oldest Canadian public high school west of the _ Great Lakes, will cele— brate the 100th annive—‘ rsary of its establish- ment. A Committee has been formed to plan suitable centennial ce— lebrations, and we are now attempting to loc— ate all who attended V.H.S., either as a

student or a member of ‘the staff.

Celebrations will begin early in the New Year and continue thro- ugh to the end of the

Some were standing there for an incredible twenty—five hours.

process at all? The whole thing strikes me as one of the most useless exercises in frustration and futility at a university, exams not excepted. Possibly its pur— pose is to remind students that they are here not to learn but to get a stamp of approval from the university.

If it is necessary to do this then surely they can find a way that does not put professors through hassels as well. After all, they already have their stamp of apporval, don't they ??
