Tue Lyceum —Mr. Bengough gave his second entertainment in the Lyceum last evening to a crowded house. The trouble, it is said, is similar to that which caused the recent |mutiny among the members of the regi- ment of Guards at Windsor. The Inde- pendent says that the relation between the officers and men of the Thirteenth Hussars |are muck strained. A few nights agu, ser- | ious disturbances in the barracks were bare- ly averted. The men complain that they | Are seriously overworked, and threaten to mutiny unless a change is made.

It is rumored that Baron Hirsch backs the Lowenfield syndicate, which tried to buy the News and the Gazette aud made an offer for the Times before acquiring the Pall Mall G.zstte. The sum paid for the Pall Mall Gazotte—£50,000—is regarded as being far above the actual value of the paper. The anxiety displayed by the Hebrew community to obtain control of the paper occasions considerable comment.

Hamepure, October 18.—The authorities report six new cises of cholera and one death here on Sunday. According to official figures there have been 17,962 cxses of cholera and 7,598 deaths since the outbreak of the disease in Hamburg.

Hone Kone, October 17 —The steamer Bokhara, which sailed from Shanghai, Oct. 8th for Hong Kong, his been wrecked in a typhoon in the chanuel of Fukien, between the island, of Formosa aud the Chinese mainland. Only 20 persoas on board were saved. The lost inc udes the commander and the greater portion cf the officers and crew. ‘ths number of passengers on board is not known. Mails were also lost. The Bukhara carried a very valuable cargo, and was owned by the Peninsular and Oriental S 8S Co.
