BAY VIEW BRIEFS.

Revd’s Raymond of Charlottetown and Brown of Norta River with their families are rusticating at Bay View House and en-~ joying the cool breezes and pleasant waters of the bay.

Mrs. Charles Higgins of Canton Mass, is visiting with relations at Bay View and Cavendish.

J C Clark, Esq., has returned from his visitto, Niagara Falls where he attended the meeting of the National Division S of T.

Mr. and Mrs. Green of St. John are visiting with Mre. Green’s sister, Mrs. George Simpson at Bay View. Mise Elsie McNeill, teacher, is spending part of her vacation at Bay View. Two new Frost & Wood binders were purchased here afew days ago. The purchasers wer> Wm Moore and Arthur Simpson. Nearly 9000 pounds of milk went out of Bay View and Cavendish sections to Stanley factory on Monday morning. About 28,000 pounds was received at the factory altoge'her that day. The lobster fishermen have just wound up @ very successful season. Codfish are very carce. A party of young ladies from Chariotte~ town and vicinity will arrive today to take a vacation at Bay View House which by the way is becoming quite a resort for pleasure seekers,

Mr. William McIntyre, of the Clyde Print Works, Rhode Island, has been spending his holidays here, being the guest of Mr. John P. Young. He left for home on Tuesday accompanied by his sistersin-~ law, Miss Emma Young, Mr. Melntyre says ourclimate and scenery here is de~ lightful; that he can obtain more solid en- joyment and rest in a pretty litle place like Earnscliffe,than at any of the summer resorts ia the States.

The letter of “Conservative” in your issue of 14th inst., re-orgenization, is very much to the point asthe apathy of the Conservative party in this matter is in- explicable. The Liberal~Conservative Conterence, atits first meetingin Jane uary, 1896, laid down plans fcr the thorovgh organization of the whcle Isiand, but these plane have been rither slighted or totally disregarded by all but two or three districts. One thifig is sure, if the y are not put into execution in the pear future, Premier Farquharson wil! have but little trouble in carrying the next elections, und she will not need any fake arbitration schemes to help him out either, With a perfect ors ganization in every district, anda fighting leader of the MacDonald or Whitney kind —avd there is plenty of material to select from in the Conservative party—then, and then only, can the Conservatives hove to be victorious in a figbt with the grits.
