Every morning I come to the university in my little green Honda and every morning I have no trouble at all finding a place to park.

For years I have been hearing about the terrible parking problems that the university has been having, but I have yet to experience any of them. I think that most of the students who have the troubles are also the students that are to luzy to actually drive through all the parking lots, let alone walk from some of the farthest

ones.

Just because there is no spot

in the parking lot beside the building you are wanting to go to, does not mean that there is not a spot left anywhere. If most of these drivers spent half the time searching for a spot that they spend complaining about the "problem", then they would not have any problem at all.

I have to laugh every time I see another student trying to walk through that mud hole of a parking lot along the back road just because they won't take the time to look around the parking lot by the barn.

The security department has pieie hangs full trying to control the parking lots. People feel that just because there are no spots where they want them, they can block a roadway or block someone in. I applaud the security department for there well done jobs but I feel that the only way to stop

the problem of illegal parking

is to implement a tough towing

The university has fallen to some of the pressure by creating some new parking lots near the centre of campus. This

_ only creates a bigger problem

of having cars zooming in to | try to get these choice spots.

Also these great spots cost a grand total of $750 per spot.

' That bills up to over $75,000.

At many of the campuses across the country, there is a fee for parking and Tear “1s + quite expensive. Maybe if the university started this program, it would be able to pay for .some. of the cost of these new parking lots. Maybe then the parking problems that the university seems to be having will be miraculously cleared up.
