“ The Saltana contained 2175 soula. The den- sity with whieu they were packed had awakened my curiosity, and I looked over with the clerk his certificates and bouks before retiring There Were some females, besides a few children. The bulk ef passengers were returned prisoners from Andersonville, which place they left ou the 17th of last February.
