The cases against Thomas McGreevy and Nicholas Connolly have been postponed to the next assizes at the request of their connsel. ©

Parliament will adjourn to-day and Wednesday for Hon. Alex. McKenzie’s funeral. Sir John Thompson, Hon, Mr. Sowell and Mr. Patterson will attend as representatives of the ministry. A _ state funeral was not held—at®the express wish of deceased's family.

Bishop Courtney's Message.

Bishop Courtney requests the clergy of the diocese to read the following in the churches Sunday next: ‘‘The Bishop desirea to return thanks to Almighty God for restoration to life and health and work; also for the prayers, the love, the sympathy and the patience of the clergy and people of his charge, and for all other of God’s vouchsafed mercies to him.

Mayor Thomas’ Case. Troro, April 19. Mayor Thomas, of Truro, appeared before the bar of the House of Assembly yesterday, and asked that his case be postponed till Wednesday, as his defence was not prepared. The request was granted.

At Upper Belle Creek, on Friday, 25th March, after a long and painful illnese, which she bore with much patience and te signation, Sarah, the beloved wife of Daniel McLean, and eldest daughter of Rodeiick McKenzie, of the same ppm aged 31 years, leaving a sorrowing husband and two young children to mourn their loss.
