Conceit.—-A enpfal of butter, a cupful of sugar, three cupfws and a halt of flour, four eggs, a third of a cupful of cream, and half a teaspoonful of saleratus.

Cookies.—A cupful of sour cream, two cupfuls of sugar, a piece of butter the size of av egg, carraway seed, a teaspoonful of soda, snd salt. Mix soft, and bake in a quick oven.

Sagar Gingerbread (to keep).—A cupfal ot butter, two cupfais of sugar, three eggs, three cupfuls of flour, a teaspoonful of soda with milk to dissolve, salt, ginger, nutmeg.

White Sugar Candy.—Two cupfuls of white sugar, half a teaspoonful of cream 01 tartar, a cupfal of cold water and a tea spoonful of butter. Boil without stirring.

Good Indian Cake.—Two cupfuls of milk, two cupfuls of Indian meal, a spoonful o! molasses, a little flour, a third of a tea- spoonful of soda, and. salt. Mix thin, and pour.

Ge'atine [cing for Cake.—A scant table- spoonful of gelatine, dissolved in two table. spoontuls of hot water, mixed with pow- dered sugar till quite stiff. Spread on the cake, and smooth with a knife dipped in hot water.

Gingersnaps.-— A cupful of butter, a tea- spoonful each of soda, salt, and ginger. Boil two cupfuls of molasses, and peu over the above, adding flour enough to knead hard,

Muflins.—A quart of milk, two eggs, but- ter the size of an egg melted in the milk, pound of flour, two teaspoonfuls of cream Oo! tartar, and one of soda. Bake in gem-pans in a quick oven,
