1t was fight and the will to win and nothing less that enabled the Oollegians to come through their semi-final series. At times in that action filled encounter the big crowd were almost conceding the Airmen the series but somehow or other the kids usually dug up a little more spark to put them back in contention, and it was a fitting climax that they should finally come through.

But the crowd that jammed the Forum to its doors, reminiscent the clays I the Big Four, will not likely forget the action-filled, sen- sational struggle that the two teams waged throughout the entire sixty minutes of the battle.

Airmen, no doubt about it, had an edge over the kids for a good part of the game as far as display- ing the better brand of hockey was concerned, but that was where any advantage ended. And with the Budlong horse's victory also went the silver tray donated by the Driving Club and presented on conclusion oi the third heat to owner Cudmore by President Willard Kelly.

While the colts held the spot- light more or less. the other classes on the card ycsterde again pro- duced racinlz of the ighest order with Lady Hal. Nellie Worthy, Dr. Budlong and Margaret Jean ac- counting for the other victories. In a battle with Bedforcl Grat- tan in the two heats raced, Lady Hal accounted for a straight heat victory with the winner pacing a- way n the final vards in both heats to win by halt’ a length. Nellie Worthy was 1-1-1 when pitted against Peter Grattan, hay- ing a little too much speed al- though the Grattan horse did give tough battles of it in the lust two heats after suffering a fill! gust after they got the word 1n he first heat.

The Class B. Pace had to go an extra heat before Dr. Budlong fin- ally copped the race after finishing third and second in the first two dashes, This class provided the fans with what was probably the best racing of the afternoon.

In the first heat Byrne Hal and Marjorie Budlong had only inches separating themes they flashed by the wire, with the Ha horse get- ting the nnd.

The Cookies had the better of the play throughout and only for the stellar work of Crawford lil the Saint John nets the score would have been much larger. Deighan opened the scoring for the Cookies in the first period when he picked up a loose‘ pucl: in front of the net and made no mistake. Stewart. McKay and Schurman combined for the next goal when Stewart took a goal- mouth pass which gave Craw- ford no chance at all. The period ended 2-0 for . Summerside.
