But then at the age or twelve. our Brownie turns Guide. Ii she has been an industrious Brownie and passed the nscesia y tests, sho illes up to Guides. We dislike the ward test. but ior want or a better one. will use it. The flying up ceremony. complete with golden wings, is one or the most unior- gettabis experiences a little girl can have. In one group the Brown- ies sing farewell to their comrstle. who hali sadly. haii gladly goes over to the Guide company, who welcome her with warmth and ceremony. Our new recruit ilnds quite a diiierent atmosphere in the Guide company. and she is usually quite ready ior the change. In the Guide Company, we have a, more down to earth programme. The magic is gone but the spirit 'oi iun still prevails or it should.

one oi the most enthusiastic and well-attended rallies in years was held last evening in st. Paul's Hall by the Queen's county Guidesand Brownies.

Almost we attended to see the film made by the Girl Scouts of America on "world Friendship”. loaned by lths National Film Board, the rum tells the story of three siris n-om Brasii. Canada and the U. S. A. through whose eyes is seen the world conieren- es in action. The iilm made a very deep impression on all those pre- sent. showing as it did, the power oi true iriendship.

For those who are not too iamiliar with our work I Should say that the Departments or Pro- vincial Committees each serves a need inherent to all companies; e. g. our Provincial Camp Commit- tee helps the Guiders plan in: vamp; our Provincial Training Committee helps our leaders in be- come trained etc.

To speak oi our camp Commit- tee. Miss Suzanne Macxinnon. o- vlnclal Camp Adviser, is do 5 very good job with a most dllii- cult department. Camping in can- nds today. is in a state oi flux, standards are being raised and we would like to meet these d ”--- In fact. we must it we are to hold our own.
