The long suffering car ferry SS Prince Edward Island was ex- pected to limp back into service this morning operating on two of her three engines.
The ferry was due to make her first crossing this morning at 7 o'clock to begin together with the little Scotia LI, what Moncton Canadian National Railway officials describe as a “‘modified’’ service.
The CNR said the ferry would carry only passengers and auto- mobiles while the Scotia, which is unable to ferry cars and trucks, would carry trains. - -
The ferry was put out of op- eration Wednesday evéning after a blade on one of her propellers was discovered to be loose while docking at Tormentine on the 4:30 fun.
