Rumours have already been irculating that DC plans to bring Superman back but as a gifferent, harder-edged character more appealing to a modern jdience. Sounds like a smart move, and if so that would be the thing for readers and collectors to watch out for as opposed to the bloody spectacle of Superman #75, which is probably noth- ing more than.a flash imthe Pan. Keep in mind that the Superman comics have not been cancelled, and the upcoming anniversary sue of Adventures of Superman #500 would be a perfect place jo bring Super back once the funeral storyline wraps up in the next couple of months, We haven’t seen the last of the big guy et. Youcan’tkilla legend. Corny or not, Superman strikes a chord and embodies ideals that most people share even if we’re oo jaded and cynical to acknowledge it. There’s a grain of truth in the old boy, and if we take him with a grain of salt we may be able to enjoy him for decades to come. Ml

On November 20th CIMN held their Grind Core Bash - Four Bands For Four Bucks. The wet/dry pub, held at the Barn featured Sons of the Mourning, Skinkeeper, Earth A.D., and Tormented. These bands preformed fantastically and were ecstatic by the mood of the crowd.

There were 260 people through the door and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly, especially those people on the dance floor. The mosh pit was rather sporadic and potentially scary to afew. Only one person was hurt, receiving acut to the forehead. He realized that this injury was possible and took the blame upon himself. Another individual fell on the dance floor, but contrary to rumour she was not trampled. CIMN is proud to say that no fights broke out and there has been no complaints about the antics of the evening.

CIMN would like to extend its thanks to the UPEI Security and the Campus Police who kept cool heads and put up with all the aggression, even though they couldn’trelate. Thank-you! We wouldalso like to thank the members of St. John’s Ambulance who were present during the gig in case of an emergency. Luckily their aid was not needed.

CIMN has a TECHNO-RAVE dance/pub in the works to take place during Charlottetown’s Winter Carnival. This event is , tentative and the details are still vague, but you can expect this event to take place during the weeeee hours of the morning (2 AMto 6 AM) with a techno DJ who, I’m sure, willkeep you up allnight...morning...whatever!
