This is a response to the piece appearing in the March 28th issue of the Netted Gem —- “To Those Who Appre- ciate Hair’i.

I feel it is my duty as a young man in the first stages of life long baldness to en- lighten those people who cling to the false notion that hair is in.

I’m sorry to have to in- form you that the 1983 statis- tics show that the majority of adult males are bald, and if they are not, they should be.

Many don’t know the ad- vantages of having thin, sparsely planted hair. Right about now I imagine many of you are saying “Ha — what advantages?”

Well, number one on my list deals with getting up in the morning. No longer do you have to worry about hair standing up on end on the top of your head when you get up, no longer do you have to meticulously wash and blow dry your hair each morning, no longer do you have to carry a comb in your back pocket. When you get up in the morning you simply have to take your faithful wash cloth and slide it across the top of your skull — simple eh! If the glare is too brilliant, its amazing what wonders baby powder will do.

You no longer have to worry about your hair being messed up on a windy day and you can easily Wear a

hat and not be bothered-

about your hair being all matted down.

DEAN OF SCIENCE, UPEI

Nominations and applications should be sent to Professor James MacDougall, Chairperson, Dean of Science Search Committee, c/o Departmentof Mathematics and Computer Science, University of P.E.|.

Nominators must have the consent of their nominees. All applicants must provide a current curriculum vitae and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to the chairperson of the Search Committee.

The Deadline for Applications/Nominations is April 4, 1985

All candidates must be prepared to deliver a public talk on their vies of the role of Dean of Science at UPEI in terms of the duties and respon- sibilities of Deans outlined in the Faculty Handbook. The search is restricted to persons presently employed by the University.
