A license has been issued m other parties to operate a station in summerside but no public an- uvu --‘ has yet been made as to when work will commence J1! the erection oi a new station. Meanwhile there is no radio broad- casting from Bummerside.

Station CHGS has a power out- put o! 100 \vatts.and operated on a lrequency o! i480 kilocycles. —At the regular monthly meet- ing of the Summer-side Board oi Trade held last night in the civic building, Dr. John F. MacNeilI called the attention oi the mem- bers to the very unsatisfactory Pullman service ior passengers ravelling irom Montreal to Prince Edward Island. It was agreed that no complaints were‘ in order as far as passage from the Province Montreal was concerned, but in the case of the return trip dur- mg the winter months Pullman cars were attached to the Ocean Limited. which leaves Montreal at eight o'clock. and upon arrival in Moncton were sidetracked and were not picked up until next day.

Dr. MacNelll suggested that ii these Pullman cars destined ior

ince Edward Island were brought down from Montreal attached to the Maritime Express it would be able to connect‘ with the Island train and consequently insure through passage, with no stop over. to Charlottetown or Emerald as the case might be.

The matter was given considar- able discussion by the memhc s present and Mr. R. S. llinton. chairman oi the Transport Com- mittee was instructed to take the matter up with his committee and endeavour to have this condition temedled.

The matter oi planking the low- er deck oi the car Jerry ior the accommodation oi cars and heavy trucks was reviewed and the Board received the assurance oi J. Wat-- son MacNaught, M.P.. that the matter had been taken up with the proper authorities and was at present under advisement-

At the last. meeting ‘oi the Board the matter oi an extra trip oi the car ierry during the sum- mer months was discussed. It was pointed out that motorists were forced to remain on the Island overnight as there are no more trips ailer ilve o'clock unieasithoy were necessary due to extra. ireight.
