Monctons Juvenile Bruins were expected to take the Royals mea- sure but again tiie local team were just foo good. They took the first game for the two-province 011811111- ionshlp 10 to 5 and then travelled m New Brunswick to chalk up an- other win by a 7-5 count.

Young Jackson's goal with only a minute and n half to play gave the Royals their title when 'hey met Windsor in the sudden death- game and with this all-important goal went the three-province title to the Royals.

Little improvement was noted in basketball circles. For some reason or another interest is dead and it is only through the efforts of a few that love the game that any games at all have taken place. P.W.C.. Saints, Air Force and Y engaged in a few games but ul- though the brand of the hoop game being played was good never- theless attendance was very poor.

Two girls teams also met in a series of games. the Rocketbes and a squad from P.W.C.. but as was the case -in the men's division in- terest being shown was negligible. Prospects for this season are no befttr but perhaps at the start of tiie year interest, will pep up and several leagues will function dur- ing the winter and early spring

Softball made somewhat of a comeback with a City league coni- pcsrd of Y.M.C.A., Army and Navy playing out a schedule of games i111 through the season with the Y team iilblllll the City title as they beat. the Army team four straight games in the finals.

Attendance at the games was real grbpd with the teams put- ting up a great brand of the pastime. The league started Out with four teams crighially with the Nav entering two squads but duc to rafts levning the province the league was la-ter cut down to three, these three finishing lhe schedule.

The Knights of Columbus also had a flourishing league in ex- istence with much interest bein taken in these games also an this coinin season it is expected that they w l1 again be in operation. Outlook for this popular sport is really brighter than it has been in a good number of years and i943 is expected to furnish a. marked improvement.

E. Cotton with Mrs. RT. Holman being runner-up. Much interest. was evidenced in this play with the title being in doubt right down to the lust hole.
