Ship Behaved Well in the Storm.

Six Passengers Remain on Board.

The only passengrs f on a > Stanley who reached here to-day left on the train before particulars could be obtained from them. The ship stood the storm well, and the passengers were fairly comfortable.

All the passengers, with the exception of six, landed vesterday on the ice at Mal- ignant Cove, and walked to the shore. The | others remained on the ship, fully expect- ing to reach Pictou to-day.

Mr. Bowers in Trouble.

Mr. Bowers, the editor of the Tribune, formerly of Prince Edward Island, is in trouble with the Supreme Court, and may be arrested for contempt. He published an article on Saturday denouncing the Opposition for presenting election peti- tions against the Whiteway members, | terming them “Pigotts,” “informers,” and “conspirators.”
