He made East Point Light about eight days ago, but was driven back to Fortune Bay. Leaving again or last Wednesday he arrived in Souris ou Friday. The Carrie Kane will load with a general cargo for St. Pierre for Messr:. McDonald & MeExchern. Dec. 26:h—Schr. Mack Lake arrived to- day from Halifax with a cargo of mer- chandiz2 for Souris. Sbe is also char- tered by Messrs. McDonald & McKachern to load for St. John’s Nfld. Mr. Lake, the owner of these two vessels, has been in Souris fur the last week arranging for the purchase of s quantity of hardwood plank. Mr. Lake deals largely in all kinds of fish, and is also a ship builder and mill owner. Cleared Dec. 29th—Schr. Annie Quiner, for Glaicester, Mass., with 5,200 bushels of potatoes, shipped by Messrs.
