Tie Templeton Opera Company have com- pleted arrangements for their appearance at the Academy of Music, Halifax, next week in the following repertoire: Pinafore, Girofle- Girofla, Mascotte and Olivette. This company is quoted as one of the strongest presenting comic opera. All the above operas will be presented by capable artists, and with the assistance of alarge chorus and orchestra, which is carried by the company. — Halifax Herald, 15th, The above Company perform in this city on Monday and Tuesday evenings, June 27 and 28.

Ox Wednesday the Rev. W. H. Spencer pronounced as man and wife two of our most yopular young people of Georgetown, viz, : Mr. Daniel McLean, for many year employed in the store of his uncle—Capt. Malcolm Mce- Donald, and Miss Lucy A. Irving, the only daughter ef Capt. James Irving. The brides- maid was Miss M ¢ Gloyer, and the groom was attended .by Capt. Nelson Fairchild. Among the numerous and valuable presents was a handsome donation, accompanied by an address from the trustees of St. David's Church, in which Miss Irving presides, with much acceptance as organist. The happy couple left this morning for a trip to Boston and other eastern cities. They have the best wishes of a host of friends, in this section of the country.

J. D. McLeod was entered by burglars. The outside hatch was broken open and an en- trance thus effected to the cellar. After

roaming about the cellar the burglars went upstairs to the store, broke the cash drawer open, and took therefrom a quantity of old

coins. They also captured a quantity of sugar, soap, tobacco and other articles. With these articles they repaired to the cellar en route to ithe

hatchway by means of which they had »btained an entrance. On the way they dropped some of their booty, which was found next morning. A young lad named Dunn,who ey ee in the burglary business, had xeon seen loitering about the premises at a late hour on the night of the robbery, and was at once suspected, The police were noti- fied and Dunn and a companion, ‘**Oiney” Smith, were arrested. In court this morning Smith said that he was standing at Dodd's corner on the evening of the rob- very, when he was taken home by an Italian woman. Dunn said that Smith was mixed up in the robbery with him, and was in the cellar a# 800m a3 he himself was. His Honor, after & few preliminary remperks, sent both up for trial in thé Supreme Court,

The Currie Scandal.

Marysvitie, N. B., June 15.

The ministerial delegation were together by themselves all yesterday afternoon dis- cussing the Currie scandal. The proceed- ings were to be kept quiet until this morning when the conference would reopen and the result of the deliberations would announced. The reporters, however, were determined to know beforehand the con- clusions arrived at and with little trouble it was learned that by a vote of 49 to LI Mr. Currie had been expe!led from the ministry.

Jubilee Banquet.

The Jubilee festivities were begun last evening. ‘The Prince of Wales as Trea- surer presided at a banquet given by the Temple Benchers. A host of notables were present. The Prince of Wales, Prince Albert Victor, the Duke of Cam- bridge and the principal guests then pro- ceeded to the Jubilee Ballat the Reform Club, which was attended by nearly 2,000 A Jubilee bauquet and reception was given at the foreign office in the even- ing.

Church Windows Smashed.

Yesterday evening the windows of the Presbyterian Church were smashed and the iurniture in the vestry destroyed. The Catholic inhabitants at a meeting to-day, the parish priest presiding, pledged them- seives to du their utmost to bring the mis- creants to justice.
