FUNERAL YESTERDAY - The funeral of the late Mrs. Margaret J. Macxinnon was held Friday morning from the Frank Hennes- sey Funeral Home to St. Dun- stan's Basilica where Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. Justin MacDonald. Interment was in the Roman Catholic Cemetery. The pallbearers were Messrs. W. J. Brawders, Byron Brown, Ed. Burke, Peter Oatwiiy, J. J. Cosdy, and William Chaisson.

FUNERAL YESTERDAY - The funeral,of the late William J. Ves- sey was held yesterday morning from the MacLean Funeral Home to St. Dunstan's Basilica where Re- quiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. During the busi- ness meeting of the Ways and Means committee reported on the very successful "Country Store" op- erated at the Trade Fair, and thanked all members for their con- tributions. The special speaker for the day was Mrs. Harold Blefert. formerly of Latvia, who has now settled in P. E. I. She told of the life she lived in Poland, Latvia and Gennariy under Communism and Nazism and showed pictures of her native country Latvia. which she has since collected, having lost everything in moving or fleeing from the different countries. Her talk was very interesting and mosi. appreciated.

He said the "Chosen Land" to which they had been sent was not of their choosing and the stories they had heard in advance proved to be true, especially those relating to the ability to smell a destina- tion long in advance of arrival there. He dryiy remarked that the sewerage systems left something to be desired. He told of his unit being sent to an island to train and remarked on the difficulties encountered with vermin and in trying to obtain a water supply through a guerilla-infested moun- talnous area.

Urges Retaining Eqiiipmeni On Public Squares

The Charlottetown Playgrounds Commission passed a resolution last evening, urging the City not to transfer the play- ground equipment from the City Square: to Victoria Park because of the need for handy and ade- quate playing material for child- ren up to it or 10 years of age.

playground area, in it's present muddy condition, while King's Square and Connsught Square
