Cuaner IN ScHoot Hours —At the annual meeting of the .atepayers of the Little York school district, a sesolution was passed in favor of a change iam the school hours By the present arrangement, the session is from 9 to 4 du:ing the hot summer months, when the attendance is smallest. During the months of March and April, when the attendance is largest, the session is from 10 to 8, so that when the teacher h»s most work to do, the time ie shortest. By lengthening the session during these months, and shortening it in summer, very great advantages would result to both teacher and pupils.

Burns’ ANNIvERSARY,—At a special meet- ing of the Caledonian ( lub, held on Thursday evening, it was decided to hold the Burns an= niversary concert on Thursday, Jan. 26th, 1893, in the Lyceum. The following committee was appointed tomskearrangements: President, Lt.-Col Irving, James Paton, John S, Mac- donald, Charles Webster, David Smal] and J. M. Campbell. Mr. Compbell is secretary of the committee. The best talent in the city will be secu'ed for the occasion, and the concert promises to be even more successful than the previous ones—which is sayiog a great dea}.
