HALIFAX. May 20.—A largely attended meeting of the Anglican Synod was held last night in St. Paul’! H3114 Amhlbishop Worrell presiding.

The chief subject of the evening was the proposed division of the Nova Scotia -Diocese, which would mean the separation of Prince Ed- ward island and Cape Breton from the mainland. This was moved by Archdeacon Draper oi Louidburg. and seconded by W. R. Cotton, editor of the Charlottetown Exam-l iner. The subject created much excitement and exceedingly strong opposition, during which many tributes were paid to Archbishop Worreil. The matter was deferr-

ed.

The following gentlemen were appointed to the Board of Govern- ors of King's College:-—Dean Llwyd, Archdeacon Draper, Rev. H}. 2D. Raymond; Rev. H. S. Has- lcm, Dr. Allison, Chief Justice Harris, D. M. Owen and R. Harris.

Discussion of the proposed "Re- gulations with Budget IScheme." took place at the afternoon meeting iMr. Raymond lmoved as amendment of clause four which was adopted. An amendment was made in clause six, which extended time limit of forwarding of monies from Churt Wardens to the Secretary of Synod from three days after the last day of March. June. September and De- Camber to ten days after same.
