Currently on a dominion wide tour, the Vancouver Junior Band will be arriving here on Thursday of Carnival Week and will perform Thursday evening and Friday afternoon.

The band has been supplying most of the half-time entertain- ment for the home games of the B.C. Lions in the Western Divis- ion of the Canadian Football conference and in their colorful uniforms. have been rated among the best entertainment anywhere.

From Nova Scotia will be the Halifax Artillery Band which willprovide the music for the RCMP Musical Ride Friday at- ternoon and evening. They will also give one concert F r i d a y morning at 10 o’clock.

From Ottawa will be the na< tionally known RCAF Central Band. This large group will at. rive here Sunday afternoon at 2.15 pm. and is slated to give a concert at Memorial Park be- tween 3 and 4.30 pm. In the event of rain the concert will be held at the Summerside Hi g h School auditorium.

A number of other bands will participate in the week’s actiVI- ti” and the following will march in the mammoth parade slated for 1.30 Monday aftc - noon: Sea Cadet, Salvation

. Queen Charlotte Hig in School, R-ECCE Band, Burke’s Lads and Lassies, Fraser’s Lo vat Band, all of Charlottetown, along with the Miscouche Band and the Air Cadet band of Sum- merside.

All in all this promises to be e most musical week in the history of the western capital.

Livestock Show Is Greatest Yet

“1964 looks to be the biggest year yet for the livestock show at e me de Labs Carnival" chairman of the live-

"Entries for this year’s show are up more than so over last year's” he said. This year the horse show promises to be a favorite with all, as 23 heavy horses, 10 roadsters and 32 ponys are entered in the competition.
