Apr. 3 - Deadline for receipt of Island Nature Trust Natural Areas Awards.

Apr. 5 to 11 - National Wildlife Week events will be held across the Island. The theme is "Keep Canada Ever Green for Wildlife".

Apr. 7 - Dr. Pierre-Yves Daoust will be the featured speaker on the topic of

‘ "Stranding of Deep Sea Species on Island Beaches". The Society's meeting . starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Farm Centre on University Avenue. ‘

Apr. 10.- The Island Nature Trust Annual Fund Raising Dinner and Auction will be held at the CP Prince Edward. The no host cocktail bar and auction item viewing will start at 6:00 p.m. While the dinner will commence at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 each and a tax receipt will be issued for a portion of the price. Tickets can be obtained from the Trust by phoning 566—9150. _ I ‘

May S - The Annual Slide competition of the Natural History Society will be the focal point for this evening of colour and light. The'Society's

1 meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Farm Centre on University Avenue.

May 6 - Tour of the J. F. Gaudet Tree Nursery. Phone 368-4700 for times.

May 14 — Reserve time for the launching of Wi d ower of Prince Edward sland and Seascapes of Prince Edward Island at 7:30 p.m. at the Farm Centre. Refer to the article on page 10 for further information.

May 15 - This is Arbor Day, why not plant a tree or_shrub for wildlife. For information call the Island Nature Trust at 566-9150.

May 19 - Annual General Meeting of Rails to Trails. Call 892-8666 for details. '

May 30 - The Natural History Society's Bain Birdathon is set to go on this date. Why not.call a friend and head for the fields, streams, and woods for a pleasant day of bird watching. Call Rosemary Curley (368-4807) for more information. ‘ ' _

June 1 to 7 - National Environment Week. Are you going to participate in an event? On Saturday, June 6th, Stephen Flemming will lead a Piping ' Plover tour from Covehead Wharf starting at 10:00 a.m.

Aug. 7 to‘9 - The Atlantic Waterfowl Celebration at Sackville, N. B. will feature guided tours of the marsh, exhibits and displays of wildlife art, photography and carving, field trips, a waterfowl decoy auction, and duck calling contests. For further information call (506)536-4503.
