“SWIMJHING CLASSES CLOSE IN TIGNISH”

-Jl‘he "Learn-to-Swim" class sponsored by the Canadian Red Cross society. and organized under the direction of Mr. James Kelly of Charlottetown. assisted by Mr. Louis MacDonald of Tignish and Dr. Stuart Grady of Sutnimerside was brought to a successful issue on Thursday, Aug. 12th in the Legion Hall. This class was held at Tignish shore where one hundred and forty children were enrolled. On Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 11th the parents and friends were invited to witness the rogiess made by the children d ing their three weeks instruction; they were well pleased with the results. On Thursday evening. Aug. 12th. parents and friends gathered in the Legion Hall to see the film "The Red Cross in War and Peace." It was regrettable ‘that. Mrs. l-l. Cudmore. the Red Cross Super- visor was unable to attend. Mr Robert Kelly. acting supervisor. carried on. Following the showing of the film a sing song was enjoy- ed by all.
