: lead singer actually sings and sings well. The song, ‘‘Arena Rock,”’ sets you up for the re f the tape. It is a great song and the music is exceptional. This Canadian group is sure to go places. with their music. I would see this group. I also must comment on the liner Nt is very creative and interesting. 1 spent a while just staring at it, trying to figure out what each thing was. Trigger Happy deserves a lot of credit for recording such a great cassette. (4.5)

Carry On Up The Charts The Best Of The Beautiful South

The album is worth a listen if only for one song -- *‘Song For Whoever. has sat quietly in the background for several years -- producing some somehow missed the mainstream in North America. The Beautiful South’s lyrics are funny, yet still get their point across, with a truly original sound. If you are looking for an interesting addition to your music collection which will make i hum along, try the Best of The Beautiful South.

The language on this tape would be offensive tolsome people, as every four-letter word imaginable is used on this tape at least ten times. It wouldn’t be sooo bad, except that you can tell they are only saying these words to sound ‘‘bad’’. There jn’t one good song on this tape. They have good music, but lousy words. Some may like this tape, but I find it to be a bit too much. I also encourage those who own this tape to keep it out of the reach of children. (1.5) Mary MacDonald

This is music that is very easy to dance to. It has a get-up-and-go beat that seems to fill the room with energy. The words are great -- when you can unde: them. Most of the words are in English, but the choruses seem to slip into some foreign language. Some of the songs seem too much like chants. This noise can get on one’s nerves pretty quickly. The song, ‘‘I Feel No Pain’’, ismuch too weird. She chantsa lot and repeats every thifd line. For the type of music she is singing, Iam sure she is doing a good job. If you like c g, you'll love this tape. Since I don’t, I am going to have to give this tape a low rating. (2.5)

(Cargo Records) Although it is hard to find aname to label this music, Gil Scott-Heron refersto his music as ‘Black American Music’’. The music could fall under reggae, blues, African vibrations, jazz, salsa, chants or poetry. The advice hidden within his songs is very educational. It seems to be valid for all people in that we must learn to live together oniously. ‘‘Message to the Messengers’’ is - a refreshing poetic piece with music playing in the background. The words are literally aimed at young African Americans, but it could apply to the situations of all races. The rest of the songs

on the tape are good, except that a few lyrics did not seem to fit the music. I also found that the majority of the songs were either too long or too short. Very few of them seemed to stop at the perfect spot.
