While the routes were well known the details and conditions to be met with are not considered, most of searchers for wealth hoping to settle all doubts and uncertainties when they should reach Juneau. Instead, however, further confasion was created by the appallirg statements that there were only two routes each of which necessitated the encounter of almost insurmountable difficulties. There were plenty of advocates for both routes at Juneau, but most of them were fouud to be interested parties. The two starting pointe, Dyea and Skaguway, were ports of salt water. The Dyea trade. goes over the Chilkoot pass and involves a climb of

In making excavation the other day at Nenagh, Ireland, some workmen discover- ed at a depth of about six feetfrom the sur~ tace,a number of bronze medals, which, as their inecription attests, were struck in the reign of “Cuarles III,” to commemorate incidents in the Pretender’s career.
