An enjoyable Christmas concert was held in the Tyne Valley hall on Wednesday evening, December 23. A large crowd attended and the program was enjoyed by all. At the closing of the program Santa Claus came and presented the gifts from the well laden Christmas tree to the teachers and rhlldren.

....FUNERAL POSTPONED - The funeral of Rita Elizabeth (Betty) Curley which was to be held this morning, has been postponed un- til Tuesday morning. The late Miss Curley's aunt had planned to arrive here last night from Boston to attend the funeral but poor weather prevented plane travel. She will arrive tonight.

-THIEVES CIIASED - An at- tempted break at Ed's Grocery on Convent Street was prevented on Friday evening when. the owner, Roy MacArthur, discovered two persons trying to break into the store through the back door. one of two doors st this point had been forced. A large crowd of children were in 0'Leary last week when Santa arrived at the Legion Home and presented each child with ice cream, candy, apples. oranges and nuts.

The lighting is porticuisrly good. The bulbs do not require shades. 'Ilhey are so frosted that the light is thrown up the ice from one bulb to cover in specific area. and the whole effect is such that you can literally see to pick up a pin on any part of the ice.
