In the McDougal! Challenge Cup match, five shots at four and six hundred yards, Lieut. Hutcheson, of Ottawa, wins the cup, badge and $25, with 46 points. Sergt. J. Milton Davison was second, winning a gold badge and $20, with 46 points. Lieut. Ewen Stewart wins $4. Sergt. Davison now leads the field in the grand aggregate.
In the Nursery Match, five shots at five hundred yards, Capt. Moore made 18 points, winning $5. In the Hamilton Pow- der Co, Match, seven shots at 500 yards, Sergt.-Major Grey made 33 points, win- ning $8; Sergt. J. M. Davison made 32 points, winning $6; Corpl. Baird made 32 points, winning $4; Sergt. R. V. Long- worth made thirty points, winning $4. The team: are shooting splendidly.
A Sensational Case. Montreat, Aug. 28
There is a big sensation in Sutton, Brome county, over the arrest of Walter Kelly in Marlboro, Mass., who was induced to come to Sutton in June Jast to “do up” W. Smith, a station agent and president of the Brome County Alliance. It appears that the; saloon keepers agreed to pay Kelly $150j for the job, Only $75 was forthcoming, the rascal squealed, and now several accompli ces are also in jail.
