Garter Snake - 1 at Springton on Oct. 13 (JDM). [gag - 1 at Donagh on Oct. 14 (JDM).

Erggs_- heard singing in Donagh on Oct. 14 (JDM).

Yellow-spotted Salamander - 1 in Springvale on Sept. 25 (GGH); 1 in Peter's Road on Sept. 27 (CM); 1 at Millvale on Oct. 15 (JUN).

Chi munk - l at Queen Elizabeth Hospital property on Sept. 23 and 1 at Donagh on Sept. 6 (JDM).

Red Sguirrel - 1 at South Lake on Oct. 8 (NEC,Dw); 1 in Brooklyn on Oct. 16 (NEC). According to JDM the red squirrel population is up dramatically this year. An estimated density of 2 to 2.2 per acre was found on an 8 acre block of woods at Watervale and a late litter of young was seen in Argyle Shore in Oct.

Red Fox - 1 seen on several occasions throughout the summer at Clear Springs (GM); 1 in Bunbury, on Sept. 30 (JDM).

Mink - 1 at Deroche (JDM). Bgt_- 1 at Elmwood on Sept. 26 and 1 at Royalty Oaks in Oct. (JDM). Shrew - 1 on Q.E.H. property on Sept. 23 (JDM).

Seal 59. — 2 at Beach Grove on Sept. 24, 1 at Hillsborough Bridge on Sept. 25 and 1 at North River Causeway on Oct. 23 (JUN). ‘

Lu in - 1 blooming at New Dominion on Oct. 23 (AS); a dozen blooming in New London . on ct. 26 (MWe); several in flower in St. Peter's on Nov. 1 (JDM). - I

Larch and White Spruce - cone crop heavy in Queen's County (JDM). Red Pine - cone crop normal in Queen's County (JDM). Red Oak - in Queen's County nut crop generally poor but some individual trees

good (JDM).

White Oak - in Queen's County nut crop good on individual trees (JDM).

bourg cannon placed in Queen Square by the P.E.I. Natural .f History and Antiquarian Society in 1901. A letter from Parks Canada indicates the gun is in the “holding” or

"storage" area at Fort Amherst. Because of its very long immersion in salt water and subsequent exposure to the elements, the gun has become heavily corroded, and is no longer suitable for display.
