CELEBRATES 89TH BIRTHDAY -Mr. Layton MacCabe, Alexandra, is today celebrating his 89th birth- day. Mr. MacCabe who was born in 1854 is now entering his 90th yaar, and besides receiving cheery messages and gifts from friends and relative; far and wide, he was also kindly renumbered by the Alexandra Women's Institute, Mr. MzicCabe has been busy all fall and early winter chopping in the woods. and splitting blocks of wood to keep the “home fires burning." He also foliowa the trend of the war news each day with keenest interest, and reads readily without glasses. His many friends and neighbors wish this “grand old man" many happy returns.

HEALTH REPORT - ‘Three ea- ses of diphtheria and eight cases of tuberculosis were discovered in Charlottetown in January, Dr. B. C. Keeping, Deputy Minister of Health for the Province and City Health Officer said last night. I-Ie was making a regular monthly re- port at | meeting of the City Council.
