Tom Moore's Harp.

New York, Jan. 12.—There has arrived in this city from Dublin, a musical instru- ment with an interesting history. It is the harp of Thomas Moore, the Irish poet, and is now the property of Marie Glover Miller, the sopranoist of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The instrument belonged to her father, the late Professor Glover, of Dublin, to whom it was given by the Messra. ee of that city, the firm that first published Moore’s poems.

The harp is of the style known as the Irish Dalway. Itis about three feet in height and weighs perhaps ter pounds.

A Fatal Storm.

Victoria, B. C., Jan. 12.—Advices by the steamship Kmpreseof Japan tell of a fierce storm sweeping the Japanese coast on December 24, by which 35 junks were lost while being tewed from Osaka to Kobez and 171 pereons perished. A tidal wave suinitaented by a storm caused 4i1 persons to lose their lives. °
