Located in the University's gymnasium, the annual one-day event Will consist of seventy scientific pro- jects entered by school children in grades 4 to

12 from across, the province.

PEI Science Fair Chairman , Professor Don IVlacEwen of the UPEl Department of Engineering notes the competition. will be keen for the national prizes offered by agencies such as Health and Welfare Canada, Department of Regional Industrial Expansion (DRIE) , Environment Canada, SUNCOR , Heritage ’85 Conservation Award. IBM and‘the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

- Competition for $1800. in provincial prizes falls into three categodes Senior ( grades 10, H , 12 ) Intermediate ( grades 7,8,9,) and Junior ( grades 4,5,6,).'Juclging will be on scientific thought, originality, skill, dramatic value and project description. Speciality prizes are provided .for projects related to Air Poll- ution, . Chemistry, Agri’? culture, Energy and Natural - History. ~ ‘
