Ostober Bch, 1889. They consisted of Leicesten, Cotswoid, Oxford Down and Shropshice Down grades, the majority be- ing Cotswold and Oxford Down grades of good typés. They were weighed October 10th, and were turned in on the rape the same day to pasture. They remained there until December 3rd, when owing to a snowstorm they were brought in to the sheep shéds and were agam weighed on December 10th, two months after the com- mencemént of the «xperiment. While on the rape they were fed in troughs oue half pound eagh of oats daily and were given salt at will, but they were not given any water,

The rape.—The portion of the rape field pastured by the lambs comprised eight acres. The rape was sown in drills on July 10th, about ten days later than was intended, owiug to the wet weather of that time. The field was an outlying one, which was very badly in need of cleaning. The hilly portions, which were dry and gravelly, had received a light but insufti- cient coatof barnyard manare. The crop of rape was fair in the valleys, but light on the hills. Obituary.

Died at her residence, Hope River, on Monday, 6th inst., Hannah Sullivan, dear- ly beloved wife of Felix Marphy, in the 59th year of her age. Deceased was a de- vout member of the Catholic Church, and lived consistent with ité precepts, practis- ing her religion quietly and without ostentation, her every action being so im- bued with a true spirit of faith as to render it an offering of praise to her Creator. Her winning manners and amiable disposition, united to more than ordinary intelligence, rendered her an agreeable companion, and by a large circle of friends and acquaint- ances her loss will be deeply felt. In the home circle, however, as an affectionate wife and devoted mother, her grief-stricken husband and family bave sxstained a loss than can never be filled. Fortified by the Jast rites of her Church, she passed peace- fully away, leaving behind a beautiful ex- ample of a truly Chriftian life. May her soul rest in peace. Can You Dress a Doll?
