Three UPEI students have been selected by the Canad- ian Association of Univer- sity Teachers of German, CAUTG, to take part in their I'lrlorkstudent Program l980“ and a fourth Student was chosen for the reserve list.

Katalin Schmidt [not the Marxist-Leninist], William Pound, and Stella Wallace will be leaving at the end of May for Germany and will return at the end of August. Réjean Gate is on the reserve list. Their exact placements in Germany have not been determined yet, but in recent years UPEI

CAUTG works in collab- oration with the Canadian government, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and the Central Manpower Office in Ger- many (ZAV). The trip to Germany is subsidized and costs the student only $3h0 for the round trip. Necessary trans- portation in Canada is subsidized by the Canad- ian government.

of Germany. Most of the students will be doing semi-skilled jobs such as working in hotels and restaurants. If the employer does not provide room and board, he will be willing to assist the student in securing adaquate ac- ommodations. Approximately 200 students go on the “Work- student Program" every year.

CROCKETT TRAVELLING TOO

Goethe Institute Scholar- ship Program to study in Germany. There are many centres in Germany where the course is held but Kellie does not know yet which city she will be studying in. Like the “Workstudent Program”, this program allows the student one month of travelling after the work is done.
