Emigration Ficures.—The emigration statistics pablished by the British Beard of Trade show that 33,727 persone sailed from British ports for Canadain 1899, as ageinst 27,487 in 1898. That is a con- be noted that the imereasé consists eutirely of for- eign immigrants. The number of settlers of Britiah origin fell frem 17,640 in 1898 to 16,451 in 1899.
