He had one brother named William, much younger than himself, whe in 1774 was not 30 years of age. Laat November ove of the two nephews, the Rev George Arthur Clive, died in his sevent) - ninth year, and three weeks ago his niece died at an advance! age. Her name was Charlotte and she was a spinster, The venerable Arcii- deacon Clive, now in his eighty-seventh year, and the last of the three children of William Clive, followed her remains to the grave.

Ix Denver, Colorado, during the past year, the sum of $4,000,000 was expended on the eonstruction of new buildings The total aseessed valuation of the city is $25,656,000, an increase on thatof last year cf $9,460,- 000. According to the auditor's returns, the assessed valuation of the state of Colorado is $96,059,004, an increase of $23,000,600 on that of a yesarago. The bullion cutput of the State for the year is set down at $20,200, - 009. Of this $11,500,000 goes to the credit of Lake County. Over $9,000,000 was spent in the State on railway construction. By next Christmas it ia expected that the Denver and New Orleans road will have connection with the Texas readg. The Chicago, Burlington & Quincy will have their line completed to Den- ver about midsummer. lhe Atchison, Topeka & Santa te are now running their trains through to Denver.

Farmers’ Ciub.

A meeting was convened in the Mill View Scliool Room, on Saturday last, the 28th ult., for the purposs of taking into conside- ration the forming of a ‘*Farmers Club” in this vicinity.

Notwithstanding the very stormy weather there was a very fair number in attend- arice.

Mr. Charles Shsidow was appointed Chairman, and tha undersigned Secretary.

Messrs Edward Grant, Edward Fraser, John McGilveray, J. G. McKenzie, Samuel Drake and several others addressed the meeting, showing conclusively that the forming of a Fariners’ Club would be the means of causing a more combined and united effort on the part of the farmers to improve their stock and seeds, and place a better and more carefully selected article of produce in the market at more remunera tive rates, and would also tend to the gen- ral improvement and prosperity of this community. After a lively and spirited discussion on the mode of organizing the Club, it was resolved that we adj -urn until farther information be obtained, of which dus notice will be given. It was aleo unanimously resolved that William Welsh, Esq., be invited to attend our next meetiny, as he has always shown himself interested in the agricultural pursuits of this place. After the usual vote of thanks to the Chair- man, the meeting adjourned.
