plain their plans for the future. They will be going out once again this year to protest the slaughtering of whales but in addition to this they hope to bring an acute awareness to’another related problem, the slaug— htering of the harp seal pups.

Greenpeace is taking a fourteen man expedition td‘ save the seals. They plan to take a green indelible dye which is harmless to the seals. The hope is that with green markings on the pelts they will be wprthless hence they won't kill those pups. In this one article I can't even attempt to expl- ain the ordeal and plans of the Greenpeace.

The reason for the concern is that the rate at which the unemployed are exhausting their unemployment benefits is about to soar. This year, Lathe-tota1~number.of,workers who will eXhaust the 65 week of benefits is-expected to be slightly over 400,000, But during 1976, that figure is expected to top 750,000, .according to government st- *atistiCS. ' ' ' Furthermore, most econo- mists are predicting that the unemployment figures wi— ll not improve next year, but hang right around 7.5 to 8.5 perCent. And neither the ma— jor labor unions nor the le— gislature currently have any plans pending for extending benefits or otherwise coping with the mounting crisis.
