Lonpon Oct 12.—Great preparations are being made at Southampton for the departure on Saturday of General Sir Redvers Buller, and a great demonstration is anticipaied.

The Duke of Connaught, the Duke ot York, Lord and General Sir Evelyn Wooe, are expected to accompany him to Souath- ampton from London. It is announced that the fleet of traneports conveying General Buller 5 army corps will be escort-) ed by a ficetof warships, while further, despatch boats and gunboats will be sent to South African waters.
