ANGUS J. MMDONALD

There passed peacefully away at his home in Alliston. Angus J. MacDnald on October 10th. He was born in Glen Martin. P. E. 1.. on March 25th. 1866. sqn of the

some John C. MacDonald and his wife Hannah Stuart. He was of a family of nine children two of whom survive. John MacDonald of Glen William. P. E. I. and Mrs. Mary Hammond. South Paris Maine.

The late Mr. MacDonald was a man of upright and honest char- acter and possessed of a friendly. iovial disposition. ever rtady to enjoy a bit of wit or humor, but his happy manner was,dimmed by the death of his wife. Marjorie Martin of Glen William, clcvcn mars (ISO-

In early September nhcn it was noticed that his usual robust hralth was waning his son .lolin William arrived home from the Sunnybrool: Hospital in Tor- nnto, where he was employed. to care for him in his last illness.

The funeral services on October 12th were conducted by Mr. Louis iiarris who spoke words of con- .-clation and inspiration to the bereaved and those present from NV: Dist. psalm. The hymns ”.Tc5i.Is l.uver nf My-Soul", ”Rock of Ages". ”Vcarer My God to Then" and "shall We Gather at the River". were fceiingly rendered by a choir from Murray Harbour South. as- sisted by Mrs. John F. Beck and Mrs. Raymond Reynolds. A lovely -election "God's Tomorrow” was beautifully sung by the choir.

The pallbearers vverc: News-ll MacDonald, Wallace Campbell, James Graham, George Graham, Wilfred MacDonald and Alexander Maexinnon.

Interment was in the family plot in Peter's Road Cemetery.

There passrd away on Septem- ber 24th in the home of her son- m-law and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brehaut. of Lyndale. Mzrs. Prlscella (Poole)) Richards, widow of the late Thomas P. Richards in her 86th year. Mrs. Richards was A lady of very lovely Christian character and of bright intellect. Although for the past fourteen years she, was totally blind and her hearing impaired. yet. she tool: a keen interest in life. Because of her splendid personality her kind- ness and goodwill. her wide know- ledge and her happy disposition, Mrs. Richards was much highly esteemed and loved by all who knew her. For many years. she was a devoted church and com- munity worker. and she and her husband taught school in Vernon River where they lived. and in the surrounding districts gave line service and supported every good cause,

The funeral services were held from the home of her son Arthur Richards of Vernon River, and were very largely attended. There were many beautiful floral offer- ngs.

In the absence of her pastor for the past three years. Rev. A. 0. Fraser who was away on a vac- ation, the services were conducted by Rev. J. I". Macliay. assisted by Rev. A. S. Weir and Rev. Mr. Piercy. some of her favourite hymns were sung. Mrs. Mutch and Mr. Richards sang a duet. "There is no Ni-ght There." Mrs. Richards is survivcti by live sons, Clinton. Vanguard, Sask.; Earn and George of Al- lverry Plains; Arthur and Howard Vernon River. Also I stepson Charles Richards of Vanguard, sask. The daughters and sons gave r-very comfort and care to their devoted mother in her declining Nears and illness. ."Thcy arise up and call her Blessed."

The death occurred in Char- lottetown on Monday, October 15th of Mr. Allen James Morrison in his 79th year after a long illness. He was born in Peters Road. the son of the late John Morrison and Isobel Johnston Morrison.

He is survived by his wife, the former Alice Ross and three sons. Basil at Halifax. Donald. Boston.

On Sunday. September 23rd. at the Prince Edward Island Hospi- tal. Mrs. Ernest In-man of North Tryon passed peacefully away to the Better Land "at the age of fifty-six years. after an illness of several months. Born in Crapaud. the deceased was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Fall.

Mrs. lnman had undergone sur- zical treatment last spring. She recovered sufficiently to return home. where she remained until August at which time. due to a recurrence of ill health, she was forced to return again to the hos- pital. she was cheerful through- out her'illness, in keeping with her admirable disposition and way of life. ,

A woman of wonderful charac- ter. an ideal wife and mother. she Qmade her home I place of love and happiness for her fam- ily, and of gracious hospitality for her friends. She was a mem- ber ot the Tl.'y0n United Church. and had a fine religious faith. which upheld her trouble. and lighted all her path- ways.of life. She took an active part in every good work in the neighborhood. and was an ever- ready source or help to anyone in need. Her passing leaves 5 great blank in the life of the commtlnity.

The great loss of course is in her home circle. She is survived by her sort-owing husband and five children, three daughters, Gertrude (Mrs. Sterling Peterson) Windsor. Ontario; Aretha, R.N., who tenderly cared for her moth- er durln-g her illness: and Kath- leen at home; also two sons. Ver- non and Lorne. both at home. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Russell Mac-Donald. Sum- merside, and three brothers. Clarke, Charles and Edward Fall of Crapaud. besides a number of neices and nephews.

The funeral took place from the home on Tuesday, September 25. and was attended by a large and deeply sympathetic company of friends and neighb s. The service was conducted by her pastor Rev. R. L. Bacon. who spoke from the text "Thou'Wilt Keep Him in Perfect Peace. Whose Mind is Stayed on Thee". The hymns sung were. "The Lord Is My Shepherd". and "Peace. Perfect Peace". Mr. and Mrs. Ar- thur McKay sang verylclfcctivcly ”Godls Way is the Best Way".

The pallbearers were: Fred Leard. Reginald Dixon. Albert Calbcck, Gerald Best. Max Thom- son and Sheldon Dixon.

Interment was in Anglican Cem- etery. Cra-paud. with Rev. Mr. Armstrong officiating.

MRS. HAROLD J. HUGGAN

The death occurred at the Prince Edward Island Hospital on sep- tember 30 of Mrs. Harold J. Hug- gan in her fiftieth year. Although not enjoying the best or health, the late Mrs. Huggan was able to be about her duties as usual until the evening of her sudden pass- ing. which came as 3 great shock to her family and friends.

Mrs. Huggan was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Cavanagh of Earnscliffe. Prince Edward Island.

Her family which is left to mourn. consists of her husband.- Mr. Harold I-luggan, one son Douglas, and four daughters, Con- stance, Mrs. Leith Ford: Doris. Mrs. Joseph Class; Shirley. Mrs. Donald Waddell; and Eleanor, and a. foster son Lyali Young. upon whom she also lavished rnotherly love and care. surviving also are three sisters and one brother. Grace, Mrs. F. Nichols, Aylesford. N 8.; Anne, Mrs. G. Evans. Char- lottctown; Ruth. Mrs. Macbean of Vancouver. and Alfred D. Cav- anagh of Earnacllffe.

The funeral took place on Wed- nesday, October 3rd with a short service at the Cutcliffe Funeral Home from where a large con- course of friends followed the re- mains to Cherry Valley Anglican Church where service was con- ducted by Rev. Canon E. M. Ma- lone. Among the many mourners was a large attendance of old friends and neighbours from Cher- ry Valley and vicinity with whom the deceased had spent the great- er part of her married hfe before moving to Charlottetown. The hymns lung at this impressive service were: "Safe In the Arms of Jesus", and "Abide with Me".

The pallbearers were: Ambrose Doyle. Roy Beers, Edison Nelson. Duncan Irving. Bernard Doyle and Joseph Mcfnnis. I Inierment.in the adjoining cemetery.

-The death of Mrs. Fanny Ram- say, widow of Mr. Thomas E. Ramsay, occurred after a short illness on Monday, October 1, at her home in Summersidc. The deceased. born ninety-two years ago to the late Mr. Neil Mac- Gougan and Mrs. Lily Bcaristo MucGougan of Malpeque, was the last of a family of six.

Following her marriage she re- aided the greater part of her life in Hamilton. where her family was born. Mrs. Ramsay was of a cheerful and kindly disposition. an active member of the -Women's Missionary Society and greatly interested in all things for the betterment of the community. A vocal duet, "One Day Nearer Home", was rendered by Mrs. Rcagh Sudsb Ly and Mr. Tyndall Sc-mple and the hymns sung were "From Every Stormy Wind That Blows". "Asleep In Jesus”. and "Nearer My God To Thee'.

The opening meeting of the Rebekah Past Noble Grandsi Club met on Friday evening, October 12th". at the home of Mrs. Lettlc Gill, 7 Ambrose Street.

The president, Mrs. Agnes Dick- son, presided, with Mrs- Helen G. Macliachern at the piano.

Meeting opened with the usual theme song. After a successful business meeting the club closed with Mizpuh Benediction.

A social hour followed when special prizes were drawn for by the Misses Marjorie and Elaine Gill and won by Mrs. Loretta White and Mrs. Jean Smith.
