A Founpuinc.—A plump and resy little baby, apparently eight weeks old, was, at 9.30 o'clock last evening, found lying in thi gangway which leads to the yard of Kev. } MeNeil!. It was thinly clad, and when first seen was lying on its back, on the cold ground, crying leudiy. Mr. John McLean, and a lady who resides near the place, were the first to arrive on the scene, and aiter pro- viding comfortable .clothing ‘for the waif, transferred it to the Police Station, where Mra. Joho Hatch took it ia charge. Itisa promising looking chi’d. Its mother has not yet been found, although an-iously looked for.

ally celebrated in this city. A lively horse race at Upton, a cricket match between ‘*hankers” and ‘‘all-cemers,” on Victoria Park, and a number of attractive excursions are on the programme, which will afford our

citizens a good opportunity for change of air. |

The Princess of Wales will leave for Picteu at 7.30 o'clock, returning the same evening. The trip will be «-heap—one dollar—and pleasant.

The . trains for Summerside will leave at 6.30 anc 9.25, a. m., returning at 1.05 and 6 p.m. ‘Trains will aiso leave for George- town and Securis at 7 a. m., and return frow Georgetown at 3.25 p. m., aud from Souris at 2.30 p.m. Tickets from all points being at baif-fare this excursion will be very desirable.

A sbort and pleasant excursion will be that to North River Bridge in the Southport, The steamer leaves the Ferry Wharf at noon ; and returning leaves the Bridge a 6 o'clock, p. m., thus giving thoss who take passage a chance

to witness the races at Upten Park—which is |

A great number of sports will, no doubt, spend the day on the trout streams, but we think they will fall short of fish, as the trout have not yet struck in, owing to the coolness of the weather. We would, therefore, advise them to patronise the excursions or races.
