The bridesmaid, Miss Imogene Howatt, wore a strapless ballerina length gown of nile green with matching headdress and mitts. She carried a nosegay of yellow poms.

Mr. Gene Rogerson. Crapaud. was groomsman, while the ushers were Mr. James (Bud) Morrison. Hampton, and Mr. Bill Reid. Som- mervlllo. Mass.

Mrs. Vilictt, the bride's mother wore a printed nylon blue dress with black accessories and a cor- sags of pink roses. The groomis mother. Mrs. Wright, wore a two piece dress of charcoal with pink accessories. and her corsage was also of pink roses.

Following the ceremony a re- cepiion attended by approximately fifty guests was held at the home of the bride's parents. The bride's table was centered with a three tier wedding cake topped with a miniature white wreath which en- closed wedding bells and s bou- quet of pink roses. Mr. M.K. Char- man proposed the toast to the bride. to which the groom respon- ded.

Miss Christine MacPhaiI. cousin of the bride. was in charge of the guest book. For travelling on her wedding trip around the Cabot Trail, the bride donned a grey suit flecked with pink and aqua. Her accessories were of pink and white with a corsage of white carnntions. Out of town guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Sandy Reid. Sommer- vllle. Mass.. Mr. Bill Reid, Som- merville. Mass, Mr. Harry Villett, Toronto, Ontario, and Mrs. Alex Maine, Willowdale. Ont.

OTTAWA (C?)-Letters of gut itude for Canadian floor that was sent last spring to earthquake victims in Greece have fattenod the files of the Unitarian service Committee here. .

Dr. Lotta Hltschmanova, USO director. has received f thank-you letters from leaders in communities near the harbor city of Volos. where last year's euth- quakes left thousands homeless and destitute.

More than 710 tons of Canadian flour. purchased with funds raised by the USC's "bread for Greece" crusade. went to some 12.000 per- sons in the stricken areas.

Along with the formal letters expressing gratitude to the Cana- dian peoplo and the USC: lists o! recipients in each area were also forwarded by officials of the Hel- lenic Red Cross, which distrib- uted the flour to the Greek com- munities.

Shortly after the shipment from Greece arrived in Volos in March. Canada's ambasssdo to Greece. T. W. L. Macbormoi. and nther embassy officials took part in a ceremony marking the arrival of the gift.

TORONTO (CPI-When she left hospital after successful cases treatment, hairdresser Ida Sparks wondered what she could do to help other victims of the disease.

The only skill in ”doctoring" that she had was in building up morale by hairdressing and beauty treatments.

Now she has recruited 50 hair- dressers who devote every Mon- day to giving free h.alr-do's in the cancer wards of city hospitals.

A movie of their work was re? cenily shown to the Ontario branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.

As Ida shampoos. dries and sets curls and waves she talks cheer- fully lo patients. Soon. they start asking for her to visit them.

The medical and nursing staff make requests for Ida to go and cheer up a lonely. depressed suf- ferer. Sometimes, the patient has no relatives or friends to pay visits. and Ida tells the special visiting group of the Toronto branch of the society.

A letter from the Charlottetown Junior Board of Trade was read, which urged us to buy Island pro- ducts and stated that the week of Sept I7 to 22nd is "Island Prod- ucts We;k". It was moved and seconded that 810.00 be sent to tha Unltorian Service Committee of Canada.

Reports of Committees follow- ed: The sick committee reported ll calls made. School committee reported necessary articles bought. It was moved and seconded that all bills be paid.

Next meeting to be at the home of Mrs. Andrew Johnson. Roll call to be answered with a fav- orite pickle recipe.

The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem. An auction sale. followed and lunch was served by the hostess and com mittes in charge.
