The death of Mary Anne Benton occurred in the Prince Edward Island Hospital on October as. in her 'l6lih year.

Mrs. Beaton was born in Dar- llngton. daughter of the late Mr. sndjfrs. Donald E. Campbell. In her early life she attended Prince of Wales College and later taught school in her hiomcrdistrict. In '19oo she married Archibald Benton of Mt. Royal, P. E. 1., who prede- ceased her 22 year! ago. In 1017 the family moved to Winsioe where she has since residedr Mrs. Benton leaves to mournher passing, ' one daughter. Maude (Mm. Albert Middleton), Malpeque Road; one son Sutherland. Toron- to; two grandchildren. Isobel and Jack Middleton; also four sisters. Annie (Mrs. Harding Dewar). Montreal; Flora (Mrs. Luke Desc- on) Vancouver: Margaret (Mrs. Coleman) of New Philadelphia; Charlotte, Regina, and one broth- er Archie of Yorkton. Sask., to all of whom sincere sympathy is ex- tended. Mrs. Beaton was prede- ceased by her son Roland. two sis- ters, Sarah and Louise and two brothers. Norman and Aeneas. The funeral service which was held from her late residence on Oct. 28, was conducted by Rev Donald Campbell, assisted by Mr. Heber Hard-y of Winsloe. "The Lord's My Shepherd” and "Nearer My God To Thee", favorite hiymns of the deceased, were sung. The many beautiful floral pieces were a fitting testimony of esteem from friends at home and abroad. Pail-bearers were Messrs. Sidney Taylor. Reuben Good, Stephen Holroyd, Andrew MaoRoae, George Peters, Robert H. Roberts. Inter- ment was in People's Cemetery.
