Tostart your February Spring Break off with a bang, CIMN proudly presents another in our series of AMAZING concerts!! This one features Strawberry, Supercar, and the Thrush Hermits back on the Island for a return date. When, you ask? Saturday, February 18th at 7:30 p.m. at The Barn. The cost of joining in to the festivities is $5. If, however, you have become one of those gloriously audio-creative people we like to call ‘‘CIMN Volunteers’’, you can get in for $4. Come along and bring your friends. And your cousins. And their friends. And...you get the idea, I’m sure.

UPDATE: CIMN has, for the past year,

been involved in the process of applying for an

FM broadcast license. Station Manager Rory O’Connor received notice this week that the CRTC (Canadian Radio and Telecommunica- tions Commission) has granted a hearing for the application. This hearing will take place in Halifax early in April. At this hearing, CIMN will explain why and how it can undertake to provide radio service to UPEI and the Charlottetown Area. This is a very important step in the process of getting the FM license.

Leadership Awards

1. Students eligible for a Leadership Award must be full-time students who have satisfied the entrance requirements to the University or who have passed at least eight three semester hour courses in the previous year of study.

2. Awards will be given to students who have

» made, are making, or have demonstrated the

potential for making a significant leadership contribution to University life. :

3. An award may be given to a student partici- pating in University athletic activities, but only if the student demonstrates significant leadership ability through his/her participa- tion.

4. An award may be received once by an individual.

5. Nominations for awards may be made by students, faculty or staff of the University.

6. Recipients for the awards will be chosen by a committee approved by the President of the University.

History Society Meetings for the History Society take place in Main 301 every Friday at 1:30. new members are encouraged to attend. School of Nursing host ‘Health Fair The University of Prince Edward Island School of Nursing will hold the second annual UPEI

Health Fair at the UPEI Sports Centre on February 15 from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm and

February 16 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The

theme of this year’s fair is ‘‘On the Road to Health’’ and is geared toward the university community.

The fairis being sponsored by the UPE! School of Nursing in collaboration with fac- ulty, staff and students from Home Econom- ics, Student Services, the Sports Centre and the Women’s Centre. Representatives from vari- ous community organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society and the Active liv- ing Alliance, will also be on hand to promote healthy living. The fair will include booths set up with information on fitness, futrition, sexu- ally transmitted diseases, drugs and alcohol, spirituality, and women’ sissues. Various doo! prizes donated by Island businesses will be awarded.

Last year, 175 people attended the eves! and this year, organizers expect an even bigg¢! turnout. The Health Fair is being organized #0 raise awareness and promote healthy living: ‘The Health Fair will encourage people to livé a good, healthy life, spiritually, emotionally and physically,’’ says Rachel Matheson, wh? co-chairs the organizing committee of thé Health Fair with Jane McNally. Not only 4 they hope to educate the UPEI community, b! they also hope to have a lot of fun.
