Cratuam, Ont, July 12 ~—A revere hail - storm passed nortb of this city over Chat- bam townsbip yest+rJay afternoon. About ix inches of nui! fell tner-, doimmg untold damages to crops aod fruit. Some of the stones were a» large as apples. All the barley aud fall wheat that had not been cut was literally threshed out. The orchards also suffered, aud the trees in the track of the storm were stripped of their fruit.

The lose cannot be estimated just now, but the great majority ofthe farmers will lose their entire crop, and many will be ruined the terrible storm. Some heade of wheat and barley were brought to this city, aod they areempty of grain, being crushed worse than if shed with a fiail.
