CONGRATULATIONS

Dear Editor.

The two girls who organized the discussion group session in the library on Feb. 18 are to be congatulatei - not only for recognizing the need to establish a forum.for a boad spectrum of campus population - but also for their insight, (and courage), in presenting the controversial fihn: Not a love Story. It was the idealvechicle to launch their project and arOused a healthy blend ‘ of emotion and analytical comment from the group.

If this is the kind of response and

participation we can expect

from future sessions; they will be very stimulating, educational, and enjoyable. ’

The concept provides a very good opportunity for the mature person to exchange ideas with student and for the knowledgeable to present their know— ledgeable opinions. And all in a reciprbcal manner, giving everybody the opportunity to express themselves as well as learning from the experience of others.

The organizers did not achieve their objective to establish

an outline of future discussions, but the

_reason was simply that

this first session was so successful in‘arousing’ interaction anong the participants that tune ran out - no apathetic group this one. I would, however, like to offer suggestions 'to them, that they establish future subject matters to embrace those components that relateg to the first session; possibilities would be: loneliness, poverty,“ exploitation, fantasy and ~ reality, television and movies, contemporary sexual mores, psycholOgical erosion, violence and compassion, Social attitudes towards alcohol and drugs, the idea of nacho-mess etc. These would be ‘ stimulating topics for_ conversation; and the group would stand every chance of learning from each other's insights and experience to broaden their own. And hOpefully to heighten their sensitivity to these issues — and who knows P eventually make a small crack in that great mass of insensitivity,' that seems to be a very‘ threat to the future of society.

The Foreign and Domestic Teachers Organization needs teacher applicants in all fields from Kinder— garten through College to fill over five hundred teaching vacancies both at home and abroad.

Since 1968, our organization has been finding vacancies and locating teachers both in foreign countries and in all fifty states. we possess hundreds of current openings and have all the information as to scholarships, grants, and fellowships.

The principle problem with first year teachers is where to find the jobs!
