Presbytery of Sydney, in refusing to place the Presbyterians of Victoria, ministers and Jaymen, under the care of the session of Falmouth Street Church, occupied the remaining part of the day. The complain- antin this case contends that these two stations can be effectually worked in con- nection with this congregation. The Pres< bytery, on the other hand, contend that they should be associated with some other localities, with the view of being ulti- mately formed into a eeparate charge, and inthe meantime supplied by the Home

AN EXUITING CHASE~A Rack ror Lire. —As the freight train}was going east, on Friday morning last, @ valuable horse, be longing to Mr. Patrick Hayes, of Memram cook, got on the track and undertook t: outrun the train, which he did for upwards of half a mile while on the level, until he reached a place that was not well filled be- tween the sleepers, where he fai'ed to be able to increase his speed as much as the engine, which had by this time consider- ably increased its rate of speed. week was the scene of a dreadful occur- rence, the particulars, as near as can be ascertained, being as follows: Mr. Dunn, butcher, of Fairville, visited Musquash with a view of purchasing a bull from Mr. Michael Leonard, They agreed upon the price and the animal was tied to the butche er’s wagon. Becoming alarmed the bull upset the wagon, broke loose and caught Mr. Leonard on its horns, letting out a portion of his bowels. Dr. McFarlane, of Fairville, was summoned as quickly as poss
