The year was mlfkf-‘d by the Efodual retirement of Dr. Wright, who played only in the DavLS Cup games. the almost total disappearance of Willard Crcckc-r from tournament play and the partial retirement of Gilbert Nirnns. another Davis Cirpper. who played in only one tournament aside from the Davis Curp matches. Canada met Cuba in the first round of the Davis Cup at Hot Springs, Virginia. and triumphed four matches- to one. Canada lost only the doubles. Dr. Jack Wright and Nunns swept the singles over Ricardo Morales and Iorenso Nodarsi. Ratnville and Dr. Wright were beaten in the doubles by Morales and Rsndin.

Canada then met the United States team at Montreal and failed so win a match. Dr. Wright and Nilflfls again curried the banner in the singles. Ratnville and Dr. Wright were beaten in the doubles by Lott and Van Ryn. It was the worst rout Canada ever suffered
