NEW BRUNSWICK POLITICS.

It is said by some journals that the public excitement and discon- tent regarding the continuance of the Prohibitory Liquor Law induced the Governor to take the opinion of the country on that question, since the House of Assembly, during the late Session, refused to repeal the obnoxious statute ; while other Journals seem to be of Opinion, that the anti-liquor law is a mere pretext—that the Governor acts under the advice and in-
