he states he does not know wheter they will be able to get a reasonable treaty that will be sat- isfactory to Manitoba and the North West farmers, but fears they will not be able to meet their desires, ‘the American agricul~ tural echedule the farmers of the United States think, is essential to their well- being, and of course a politician has an eye to votes. Many of the outstanding questions between the two countries can be arranged eatisfactorily, and probably something can be cione in the line of secairing reciprocal trade relations in the producte of the field and forest. Weare bringing our labcrs toa close and will kvow in the course‘ of two of three weeks what can be done and only assure those who are watching our labors here that we shall do all we pos-ibly can and hope to be able to arrange a treaty that will in most respects be fairly satisfactory and will serve as aa entering wedge leading up to further concessions and batter trade relations in the near fu- ture.
