Mrs. Macbeod was speaking to I district convention of Women's Institutes on Wednesday evening at Irishtown Hall, and was bold- ing her audience spellbound, as she recorded for the 28th time for the edificatlon and entertainment of a. convention audience. her ex- periences on a. trip to Europe as an A.C.W.W. dclcgatc in Copen- hagen.

Speaking briefly on the different points visited, she was impressed in London to find St.Paul's Cath- edral standing unscallicd in the midst of total ruin all around. Visiting the British House of Commons to see Winston Churcli- ill. she was forluiizitc enough to fee all the important people so in-ll known by name.

Paris. she found to be a "beau- tiful city, so pay in suite of the fact that for so long it was occu-

In Copciihagcn. a most. amazing spectacle was the liundreds of bicycles on the streets. Mothers carried babies in baskets on the handle bars, and as soon as they are a little older, they too ridi- bicycles. Beauty and cleanliness. are notable in the buildings and in the streets. Mrs. Macbeod explained that the conference dealt with removal of tariffs and restrictions so that

--The three-act comldy which is being presented. this year in various localities by the Kinkora Dramatic club is "The Hand of the Law." an interesting story of New England life- The play is directed by Mrs. Henry Trainer. who deserves great credit for the careful training evident in the players' fine performance. Wilfred Trainor. who is rapidly becoming a popular actor. plays the part of the young attorney. Dan Chamberlain, about whose weal and woe the story revolves. J...-kie Mulligan very capably takes the part f squire Evans, Dan's rival for the office of dis- trict attorney and for the hand of Edith Hazelton, whose love Dan has won.

R. Mcxenna. Wherever the play is shown, many favorable comments are heard regarding the skilful acting or the various actors. the attrac- UV9 SW89 iemilk. and the perfec- tion of the staging of this play with its really worthwhile story. This is one of the season's most enlovnble plays and the members of the cast with their director and assistants are to be congratulated on the success of "The Hand of the Law,"
