This important message has reference to the question which has been under dis- Custion for some weeks. It will be re-~ membered that the English volunteers were ealisted for one year or the duration of war. The Canadians, however, wer, enlisted for one year only, this term ex piring on the dates varying from October 15th to October 20th.

It is not known how long the imperial authorities will require the eervice of ihe Regiment. It may be only for a few weeks ever the year,jor it may be befor: three or four months.

As the boys have siood the fatigu2s and hardships of the campaign so nobly, it is considered in official circles that not many will accept their discharge now. Only those who for domestic or business reasons must come home will ack to be releaced from duty.
